Naomi

I knew Lamon and those guys thought I was dumb. I knew they had someone watching my house, as well as his mother’s. I noticed I was being followed and would see a car ducked off outside of my complex. After how he handled the situation when them niggas ran up in my house, I was glad to return the favor. One day, I went to car and knocked on the window. The tint was so dark I couldn’t see inside, even being so close up. A guy rolled down the window and pointed a gun in my face. I told him everything that he needed to know so that I could get them to leave me alone. When Lamon called me to meet him, I let the guy know, and he followed me but not before threatening me. Every day since then, I knew they’d been watching him, and I didn’t care. I even told them that he was planning on leaving town. Fuck Lamon! He was willing to sacrifice me to a bunch of niggas over Fran’s plain ass, and she still don’t want him. Served him right. I had more important things to worry about.

“Naomi, when you gonna bring Kai to see me?” Lamon asked on the other end of the phone..

“I’m going to get her from my mom in a few. I’ll bring her then,” I lied. I wasn’t taking my baby to see him. He had too much going on, and she didn’t need to be in the middle of that.

“Aight, cool. Hit me up when you on the way,” he said before hanging up.

I finished packing up most of my and Kai’s belongings because after today, I wouldn’t be returning. I was starting over and not looking back for shit. Kai was already at my mom’s house, so all I had to do was go pick her up and say my goodbyes. I gathered my things and put the last of the things in the car before leaving. As I pulled out the driveway, I made the necessary call before leaving to start my new life.

“I’m on the way now,” was all I said. There wasn’t any need for the pleasantries, because he would’ve hung up on me anyway. I called Lamon after I hung up and let him know that I was on my way. I knew it might look bad on part that I was setting my baby’s daddy up, but that nigga literally gave them the green light to kill me. He didn’t care about my life, so now I had to choose between mine and his, and I was always gonna chose me. I pulled up to the hotel in the same spot that he always had me park. I took a deep breath and got out my car and headed up to his room. I knocked, using the special knock that he instructed me to use, and moments later, he opened the door.

“Hey. I thought you were bringing Kai wit’ you?” He asked as soon as he opened the door for me.
